Precision and restraint, expressed in two clays. The Obi-Ami Kyusu White Cut is handcrafted in Tokoname, Japan, from two of the region's most distinguished clay types, kokudei and hakudei, worked together in a single form.

The deep matte black of Tokoname's iron-rich kokudei frames a precisely fitted band of hakudei white clay at the midpoint of the body. Through this white band, four-petal flower motifs are cleanly cut, allowing the black clay beneath to emerge as the design itself, a study in negative space where the decoration is defined entirely by what is removed and not what is added. Inside, the 360° Obi-Ami fine stainless steel mesh filter ensures a smooth, complete pour for any tea style. At 340ml, this is a teapot of considered restraint and quiet confidence.
