Description

This exceptionally rare, single-origin Japanese black tea is made from tea leaves harvested from 100-year-old native tea trees (zairai) grown at an elevation of 550 meters in the heart of Uji, Kyoto, one of Japan’s most renowned tea-producing regions. Zairai tea plants are grown from seed and naturally cross-pollinated over generations, resulting in rich, complex flavors and a uniquely fragrant aroma. The area's cool climate and pristine natural environment further enhance the character of the leaves. Made from the same leaves as green tea, this Japanese black tea is carefully crafted through a process of oxidation and drying. It showcases the refined artistry of Japanese craftsmanship, offering a delicate, elegant flavor with minimal bitterness—perfect even for those who usually avoid black tea.
