Description

Few teas in the world are as rare—or as quietly extraordinary—as this single-origin Japanese Wakocha.

Harvested from century-old zairai tea trees growing at an elevation of 550 metres in the mist-covered hills of Uji, Kyoto, this tea is a celebration of nature's patience and Japanese craftsmanship. Unlike modern cultivated varieties, zairai trees are grown from seed and naturally cross-pollinated over generations, creating leaves with remarkable depth, individuality, and aromatic complexity that cannot be replicated.

Wakocha follows a meticulous process of gentle oxidation and careful drying, transforming them into a black tea of exceptional refinement. The result is a cup that is luminous and layered, unfolding with delicate floral notes, whispers of honey, ripe stone fruit, warm caramel, and a lingering sweetness that leaves almost no trace of bitterness.

The cool mountain air, pristine forests, and mineral-rich soils of Uji lend the tea an unmistakable purity, while generations of Japanese tea-making expertise preserve its elegance in every leaf. Every harvest is limited, every batch carefully crafted, making this an exceptionally rare expression of Japanese terroir.

Created for those who seek the world's finest teas, this is black tea reimagined—silken, nuanced, and effortlessly elegant. A quiet luxury to be savoured slowly.
