In Japanese aesthetic tradition, the plum blossom and pine are two of the most enduring symbols of nature's quiet strength.

The plum blooms in the depths of winter, undeterred by cold. The pine endures all seasons without losing its colour. Together on this Kyusu, they are hand-painted with delicate precision across a soft grey-green clay body. Framed by the warm, deep brown of Tokoname's iron-rich Shudei clay at the rim, handle and spout.

 The Sawayaka Kyusu Shudei Plum and Pine is handcrafted in Tokoname, Japan, in a two-clay construction that balances the mineral properties of unglazed Shudei with the clean, pale ground of the grey-green body. Inside, the Sawayaka fine steel mesh filter delivers a smooth, reliable pour suited to any tea style.
